Uniform

Introduction
It is our policy that all children should wear school uniform when attending school and
parents/carers are expected to ensure that their children leave home for school correctly and
properly dressed in uniform that is appropriate to the season and weather conditions.

Wearing the Great Wishford Primary School Uniform:
• Promotes a sense of pride in the school
• Engenders a feeling of belonging and being a community
• Is practical and smart
• Identifies the children with the school
• Is not distracting in class (as fashion clothes might be)
• Makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
• Is regarded as suitable and good value for money, by most parents

children.

Hairbands, clips etc should be discreet designs, in school uniform colours, and only used in order
to keep hair in place. Some hair clips/bands may need to be removed for PE on the grounds of health
and safety. Hair of shoulder length or longer should be tied back (both boys and girls).

No make-up, nail varnish or temporary transfers should be worn during the school day.
